Investors are recognizing that Japan occupies a far more important place in the AI ecosystem than its relatively low profile might suggest, said Richard Kaye, portfolio manager for Comgest’s Japan Equity Strategy, who believes its market has been misunderstood. “Most of the equipment and materials technology which enables the AI revolution is Japanese. In many of these domains, Japanese companies are the only supplier on the planet,” he said.
