ESG

The comgest story
responsible from the start

Since Comgest began investing over 35 years ago, we've built an international partnership based on shared values. Our approach has always been to treat long-term non-financial factors as intrinsic to our work.

Our investment strategy is based on three pillars - we integrate ESG into our research and portfolio building process, we engage with companies to influence responsible and conscientious action, and we promote best practice in environmental, social and governance policy.

We don’t see investing responsibly as an obligation, we see it as an opportunity. That’s because the sustained success of any company depends on the health of the economic and environmental systems around it. In the long term, we believe that a business run responsibly will outperform one that isn’t.

Our policy goes beyond avoiding companies with a potentially negative social impact. We actively support businesses working towards positive outcomes, such as job creation and energy efficiency.

Our responsible investment policy means that for the companies that we invest in, we care about their impact on customers, employees, the wider society and the environment. With our long-term approach we tend to think like business owners, not just investors.
